There are two video recorder options; DVR and NVR.
DVR (DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDER)
The DVR stores all recorded footage.
The DVR system uses coaxial cables with BNC connectors to connect the cameras to the recorder unit where the images are processed. This system is more cost effective than the NVR system and is popular in many residential situations. Cameras are set to motion record so any movement triggers the footage to be saved.

NVR (NETWORK VIDEO RECORDER)
The NVR stores all recorded footage.
The NVR system uses data cabling with RJ45 connectors to connect the IP cameras to the recorder unit. Images are processed at the camera so more information can be sent back to the recorder than the above DVR system. Cameras are set to AI record which can identify only humans or vehicles resulting in only relevant footage to be saved. Push notifications to your phone can be turned on if required..
